ABOUT THE ARTIST

Tatyanna Taylor is a Chicago-based visual storyteller, graphic artist, and designer. She is a recent college graduate from Saint Xavier University with a degree in Graphic Design who minored in African-American Studies.

She has a broad range of digital media experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, as well as the Procreate software for iPad.

Tatyanna’s creative work is about racial injustice in the Black community. Her art addresses discrimination that words cannot fathom: police brutality, killings, wrongful convictions, and racism. She is fascinated by stories and images that carry deep meanings through the lens of cultural history.

In 2019, Tatyanna took a DNA test that would change her life forever. She has applied what she learned about her own heritage to educate others about the power of cultural identity. Her digital illustrations have been on displays at various art galleries, such as SXU's Visual Arts Center, the Beverly Art Center, Zhou B Art Center, The Brent and Jean Wadsworth Family Gallery, and more!

Currently, Tatyanna works as an intern at the Beverly Arts Center as well as design brand logos for private and professional clients.
